BJP MLA Challenges Telangana Government on Lake Encroachments and HYDRAA Actions
Hyderabad: BJP MLA K. Venkata Ramana Reddy has made headlines by claiming to possess data on 30 companies engaged in construction activities in lake areas, urging the government to take action under the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA).
Reddy criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and other Congress leaders for their lack of clarity regarding encroachments on water bodies, asserting that the government is only addressing select lakes while ignoring the larger issue of encroachment across the region.
He highlighted the distress caused to the public by HYDRAA’s recent demolition of structures, particularly referencing the N Convention, and stated that merely demolishing buildings will not resolve the problems of lake cleaning and protection. Reddy further challenged Revanth Reddy to demonstrate his commitment to the cause by donating his entire MLA salary to support those impacted by HYDRAA’s actions.
Concluding his statements, Reddy declared that he would resign from his position as MLA if his allegations regarding the companies were proven false, urging the Chief Minister to instruct officials to act against the identified offenders.
