Hyderabad: The Saidabad police have initiated legal proceedings against Amravathi BJP Member of Parliament, Navneet Kaur Rana, in response to her recent remarks made during a public gathering in the city.
The case has been registered under Sections 505(2), 506, 171-C, 171-F, and 171-G of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The complaint was lodged by an election officer who was on duty at the time.
During the meeting, Rana sparked controversy by directing her remarks towards the AIMIM and expressing her intention to ensure the disappearance of both Owaisi brothers within a span of 15 seconds.
Her statement was purportedly in reference to an alleged speech made by Akbaruddin Owaisi in 2012 in Nirmal, wherein he was reported to have said that “if police were removed for 15 minutes, Muslims would equate the Hindu and Muslim population ratio in the country.”
It is noteworthy that Owaisi was subsequently acquitted in the case related to the aforementioned speech.
