Hyderabad: BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate for Hyderabad, K Madhavi Latha, submitted her nomination papers to the returning officer of Hyderabad, using a golden-coloured pen as a symbolic representation of “Bhagyanagar’s golden future.”
“This pen, engraved with ‘Modi ka parivar’, symbolizes the promising future of Hyderabad and the Lok Sabha constituency we aim to win, marking a path towards a brighter future,” she stated in an interview with an English daily.
Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Anurag Thakur, accompanied her during the nomination filing.
Addressing the media at the BJP party office in Nampally, Thakur said, “Today, the Congress poses a direct threat to public property, children, borders, and Sanatan dharma.”
He further commented, “The Congress aims to continue tax collection even after one’s demise, transferring the property not to the rightful heirs but to infiltrators under the guise of minority representation, exploiting them as their vote bank. It has become evident that after targeting Sanatan values, Congress has now turned anti-children.”
Responding to statements by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and overseas Congress president Sam Pitroda, suggesting that the government could claim 55% of a deceased person’s property, Thakur criticized the Congress for its anti-property and anti-child stance.
‘Cut the kite’ Thakur also targeted AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, stating, “Cut the kite. End the illusion of their fraudulent votes.”
“Owaisi has been conspicuously absent since Madhavi Latha’s candidacy was announced. It is essential to challenge those who have dominated here for 40 years, depriving the poor of their rights,” he added.
Before filing the nomination papers, Thakur and Madhavi Latha offered prayers at the Bhagyalakshmi temple located at Charminar.
