Bollywood actor Govinda was seriously injured in an accidental shooting at his home. A licensed revolver he was carrying slipped from his hand, misfired, and a bullet struck him in the leg, causing severe injury. His family immediately rushed him to the hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet and confirmed that his condition is now stable.
The incident occurred on Tuesday morning, as Govinda was preparing to travel to Kolkata. Fortunately, prompt medical attention prevented further complications. According to Govinda’s manager, the actor is recovering well but will remain in the hospital for a few more days for observation.
Govinda, born in 1963, initially auditioned for the role of Abhimanyu in the iconic TV series Mahabharat before making his Bollywood debut in the film Taan Badan. His breakthrough came with the 1991 hit Hum, where he starred alongside Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth. He later impressed Telugu audiences in Raavan (2010), directed by Mani Ratnam.
In a statement, Govinda expressed gratitude for his recovery, saying, “Thanks to the blessings of my parents and the love of all of you, I survived this accident.” Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde also reached out to Govinda, inquiring about his health and instructing doctors to ensure his speedy recovery.
