Bollywood Mourns the Loss of Nirmal Kapoor, Mother of Boney, Anil, and Sanjay Kapoor
The Kapoor family and the Hindi film industry are in mourning following the demise of Nirmal Kapoor, the matriarch of one of Bollywood’s most prominent families. She passed away on Friday evening at the age of 90 while undergoing treatment for age-related ailments at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai.
Nirmal Kapoor was the mother of film producer Boney Kapoor, actors Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, and daughter Reena Kapoor. She was also the mother-in-law of the late legendary actress Sridevi and grandmother to young actors Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor. Her passing marks the end of an era for the Kapoor family, which has long been a cornerstone of Indian cinema.
The news of her demise has prompted an outpouring of grief and condolences from across the Hindi film fraternity. Many film personalities have reached out to offer their support to the family during this difficult time.
Following her passing, Boney Kapoor, along with daughters Janhvi and Khushi Kapoor, joined other close family members, including Shikhar Pahariya and Shanaya Kapoor, at Anil Kapoor’s residence in Lokhandwala, Mumbai, where relatives and well-wishers have gathered to pay their respects.
Just last year, in September, the Kapoor family had celebrated Nirmal Kapoor’s 90th birthday in grand fashion, marking a milestone in her long and dignified life.
The Kapoor family is currently making arrangements for the final rites, details of which are expected to be shared shortly.
