Guntur Police Search for Rowdy-Sheeter Anil Kumar Who Used Fake Medical Certificate for Bail
The Guntur police have launched an extensive search for Borugadda Anil Kumar, a rowdy-sheeter who has gone missing after securing interim bail under fraudulent circumstances. Anil Kumar, who had previously been arrested for using abusive language against prominent political figures like Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena Party (JSP) leader Pawan Kalyan, managed to secure interim bail with a medical certificate that has since been revealed to be fake.
Kumar had been remanded to Rajahmundry Jail but was granted interim bail on February 15 after presenting a medical certificate claiming his mother’s ill health. The certificate, allegedly issued by Dr. P.V. Raghav Sharma, Chief Cardiologist at Lalitha Super Speciality Hospital in Guntur, was used to request a bail extension. However, after further investigation, Dr. Sharma denied ever issuing the certificate, exposing it as a forgery.
Kumar, who was supposed to surrender back to jail on February 28, applied for an extension of his interim bail, again citing his mother’s worsening condition. The court approved the extension until March 11 based on the fraudulent certificate.
Upon visiting his residences in Rajendranagar and Velangini Nagar, police discovered both homes locked and his family members untraceable, with their phones switched off. Authorities have also found no indication that Kumar traveled to Chennai, and his call data records show he last used his phone in Hyderabad. The police have issued a lookout notice in an effort to prevent Kumar from fleeing abroad.
Guntur police are actively investigating the case and are working to track his whereabouts.
