The Burj Khalifa in Dubai illuminated with the Olympic Games emblem and its iconic five rings to mark the celebration of International Olympic Day on Sunday, June 23.
The world’s tallest skyscraper displayed the Olympic logo alongside the message ‘Let’s Move and Celebrate’.
Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and President of the National Olympic Committee, took to X to share a video, captioning it, “The UAE joins the global celebration of Olympic Day on 23 June under the theme ‘Let’s Move and Celebrate’.”
“Our leadership is committed to promoting the Olympic movement, fostering a culture of sporting excellence, and supporting our athletes to achieve outstanding feats, thereby enhancing the UAE’s global standing. We extend our best wishes to our teams participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” he added.
Olympic Day commemorates Baron Pierre de Coubertin, founder of the International Olympic Committee on June 23, 1894.
