Private Bus Driver in Telangana Dismissed for Stealing Gold from Passenger’s Bag
In a shocking incident in Nizamabad district, a private bus driver working under the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) was dismissed from his duties on November 12 after he was caught stealing gold from a passenger’s bag.
The driver, hired privately by the TSRTC, was filmed by a fellow passenger attempting to steal jewelry from the bag while the bus was en route from Warangal to Nizamabad. Authorities took swift action after the video surfaced, prompting an immediate investigation.
TSRTC officials confirmed the dismissal, stating, “The driver was a private hire and has already been removed from his position.”
The incident occurred when a passenger, who was unaware of the theft, left their bag unattended. Following the theft, the driver initially claimed that the gold ornament had fallen out of the bag, but after being confronted by the other passengers, he admitted to stealing it.
TSRTC typically ensures lost property is returned to passengers, with items left behind being deposited at the bus depot and efforts made to contact the rightful owner. However, in this case, the driver’s dishonest actions led to his removal from the service.
The authorities have assured the public that strict action will be taken against employees involved in such misconduct to maintain the integrity of the transport services.
