The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has initiated legal proceedings against three individuals, including the Assistant Superintendent of Posts and two Multi Tasking Staff (MTS), along with all officials associated with the office of the Postmaster General, Hyderabad Sorting Division, Headquarters Region, Hyderabad, following allegations of bribery.
It is reported that officials from the Divisional Office and Circle Office under the jurisdiction of the Postmaster General, Headquarters Region, Hyderabad, purportedly demanded a sum of Rs. 25 lakhs from two individuals identified as Contingent Labourers (CL), in exchange for facilitating the appointment of 10 Contingent Labourers as MTS.
Additionally, it is alleged that one of the accused MTS offered a bribe of Rs. 2,00,000 for personal gain, along with an additional Rs. 1,00,000 for another accused MTS, on specific dates in July 2022, at the residence of the accused Assistant Superintendent of Posts. Furthermore, an additional bribe of Rs. 50,000 was purportedly arranged for the second MTS at a later time.
The CBI, in response to these allegations, conducted searches at three locations in Hyderabad, resulting in the seizure of pertinent documents as detailed in a press release.
The matter remains under investigation by the CBI.
