Chandrababu Naidu and Minister Savitha Criticize Negligence at BC Boys Hostel, Immediate Action Taken
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his strong dissatisfaction over a disturbing incident at the BC Boys Hostel in CK Palli, Sri Sathya Sai district, where midday meals were allegedly not provided to students. The incident drew severe criticism from the Chief Minister, who voiced his concerns directly to District Collector T.S. Chetan. During the conversation, Naidu condemned the negligence of the hostel authorities and emphasized the importance of fulfilling basic responsibilities, such as providing meals to students.
In response to the Chief Minister’s concerns, Collector T.S. Chetan assured that immediate action was taken to address the issue, with arrangements for the meals being made promptly after the incident was brought to light. However, Chandrababu Naidu insisted on a thorough investigation into the matter to determine the root cause of the negligence. He further directed the removal of any staff found responsible for the lapse. As a result, the Collector issued an order to remove the hostel warden from their position.
In parallel, Minister Savitha, who also voiced her displeasure over the incident, took swift action to ensure accountability. In a conversation with the District Collector and officials from the BC Welfare Department, the Minister questioned why midday meals were not provided to the hostel students and expressed her dismay over the careless attitude shown by the authorities. Minister Savitha ordered the immediate dismissal of the Hostel Welfare Officer (HWO) Narayana Swamy for his failure to ensure the proper provision of meals.
Following the Minister’s directive, the BC Welfare Department made sure that meals were promptly delivered to the students, restoring their right to regular, nutritious food. Minister Savitha highlighted the trust that parents place in hostel authorities, who are responsible for the well-being of their children. She made it clear that any negligence toward the students’ needs would not be tolerated. Furthermore, she warned that any staff found guilty of such dereliction of duty would be removed from their posts.
This series of actions by both the Chief Minister and the Minister underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the welfare of students in state-run hostels and holding negligent staff accountable for their actions.
