Chandrababu Naidu Acquires Residential Plot in Amaravati Capital Region
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has fulfilled a long-standing goal by acquiring a residential plot in the newly-established Amaravati capital region. The plot, located in the Velagapudi revenue area, spans nearly 5 acres (approximately 25,000 square yards) and is strategically positioned along the prominent E-6 road. The area is well-connected, surrounded by roads on all four sides, and is in close proximity to important landmarks such as the temporary High Court, judges’ residences, the Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), and NGO housing complexes. Notably, the Seed Access Road, a critical thoroughfare for the capital city, runs adjacent to the plot.
The land, part of the Land Pooling Scheme initiated for the development of Amaravati, was previously owned by a family of three farmers. Reports confirm that these farmers have already received compensation for the land under the scheme. Naidu’s plans for the plot include constructing a residence, vehicle parking facilities, staff quarters, and a well-maintained lawn, marking a significant step in his commitment to establishing a personal residence within the capital.
For over a decade, Naidu has been residing in a guest house owned by the Lingamaneni family, situated on the banks of the Krishna River in Undavalli. However, the acquisition of this new plot marks his intention to settle in Amaravati, symbolizing a personal and political connection to the region, which he has envisioned as the state’s future capital.
This acquisition is likely to further bolster Naidu’s association with the region’s growth and development, reinforcing his commitment to the establishment of Amaravati as a modern and vibrant administrative center.
