In a bold policy statement, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has called for the demonetization of all high-value currency notes across India, arguing it as a necessary step to combat corruption and accelerate the shift toward a digital economy.
Speaking at the TDP Mahanadu being held in Kadapa, Naidu emphasized that the continued use of large-denomination cash fuels corruption and undermines transparency.
“High-value currency notes have become a tool for black money and corruption. In a digital economy, there is no longer any need for such denominations,” Naidu asserted. “If we want to build a cleaner, more accountable system, we must take bold steps—and demonetization is one of them.”
Digital Governance and Clean Administration
Naidu, known for his advocacy of technology-driven governance, reiterated his belief that a cashless economy is crucial for India’s progress, especially in the public sector.
“We are building a system where every TDP worker can be proud of our governance. Digital tools, transparency, and accountability are at the heart of this transformation,” he added.
Focus on Super Six Schemes
Reaffirming his government’s commitment to the welfare of the people, Naidu promised full implementation of the ‘Super Six’ schemes—a set of flagship initiatives introduced by the TDP to address critical areas such as education, healthcare, welfare, agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
“Fulfilling every promise we made is my responsibility. We will complete the Super Six schemes and further strengthen the people’s trust in this government,” Naidu assured.
The Chief Minister’s remarks were received with strong support from the thousands of party workers and leaders present, signaling the TDP’s renewed push for reform, accountability, and people-centric governance.
