The Telugu Desam Party’s much-anticipated Mahanadu 2024 commenced in Kadapa on a grand note, marking the first party conclave since its sweeping victory in the 2024 state elections. TDP National President N. Chandrababu Naidu formally inaugurated the three-day event with a series of symbolic and heartfelt gestures.
Naidu began the proceedings by registering himself at the Chittoor Parliament Delegates Registration Center on the Mahanadu grounds. He then visited a photo exhibition that showcased the party’s historical milestones and achievements. Paying homage to party founder Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), Chandrababu laid a floral tribute at his statue and later unfurled the party flag, accompanied by senior leaders on stage.
In a moment filled with cultural pride, Chandrababu sang a song in praise of ‘Telugu Thalli’ (Mother Telugu), highlighting the party’s deep emotional and cultural roots.
The session also included a solemn tribute to party leaders and workers who passed away over the past year. Party senior leader Somisetti Venkateswarlu revealed that 1,033 party members had died recently, and he expressed condolences, also honoring those who lost their lives in the Pahalgam terror attack.
The Mahanadu, set to span three days, is being held with elaborate arrangements and massive participation from party leaders, cadre, and supporters across Andhra Pradesh. It is being hailed as one of the largest political gatherings in recent memory, reflecting the renewed strength and morale of the party.
Today’s agenda includes a major address by Chandrababu Naidu, where he is expected to articulate the party’s roadmap for governance and development. Discussions will focus on the core principles of the TDP, the introduction of six key ideological tenets, and proposed amendments to the party’s constitution. Additionally, a notification for the election of the TDP’s national president is also slated to be issued during the session.
The atmosphere in Kadapa is vibrant, with party colors, welcome arches, and enthusiastic participation turning the city into a political and cultural spectacle.
