Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced a sweeping development plan for the Kuppam constituency, including free solar power for agricultural pump sets and ambitious infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the region into a horticulture and industrial hub.
Laying the foundation stone for multiple projects worth ₹1,292.74 crore in Kuppam, the Chief Minister addressed the public during a Prajavedika meeting in Tummisi, where he promised a new era of growth and welfare.
“Solar power will be provided free of cost to farmers’ pump sets. We aim to make every household energy self-sufficient with solar installations, eliminating electricity bills permanently,” Naidu said.
Highlighting Kuppam’s potential, he declared, “This constituency will become the horticulture capital of Rayalaseema. Alongside development, we will ensure inclusive welfare.”
Naidu also detailed several upcoming projects:
- ₹3,829 crore for extending the Handri-Neeva project to ensure water supply to the last ayacut.
- A target of 10 lakh liters of daily milk production in the constituency.
- Subsidy of ₹98,000 for Backward Classes (BCs) for producing 3 kW of electricity under the PM Suryodaya scheme.
- Establishment of an airport in the Kuppam area.
- New industrial corridors and infrastructure, including a parallel road to the Kuppam-Hosur route.
- A 4-lane highway between Palamaneru and Krishnagiri, with an investment of ₹2,000 crore.
Addressing the previous government, Naidu criticized the YSRCP regime for “ruining systems and stalling growth,” contrasting it with his administration’s vision for development and governance.
“In the last regime, the state saw destruction. Now, we are rebuilding. I don’t believe in divisive politics. While we focus on development like a sacred yajna, some forces are obstructing progress like demons. But I will not allow any obstacle to Dharma or development,” Naidu declared.
He also promised fair compensation for those who gave land for the Kuppam airport and reiterated his commitment to balanced progress across all sectors.
