In a powerful display of national unity and patriotism, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and several key leaders participated in a massive Tiranga Yatra on Friday evening in Vijayawada. The rally—held in honor of the Indian Armed Forces and those martyred in Operation Sindoor—stretched three kilometers, drawing thousands of citizens waving the national flag and chanting patriotic slogans.
Chandrababu Naidu’s Stirring Address
Addressing the emotionally charged crowd, CM Naidu paid tribute to the armed forces and expressed deep sorrow over the recent terror attacks that claimed innocent lives. Referring to the brutality witnessed in Pahalgam, he said,
“They killed husbands in front of wives, fathers before their sons, only after asking their religion. This unspeakable act has ignited anguish and rage across the country.”
Naidu emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve, embodied in Operation Sindoor, aims to eliminate every terrorist who threatens India’s peace and dignity.
“We salute the bravery of our military. The valor displayed during this operation is proof that we are protected by the finest defense forces in the world,” he said.
He further declared that Tiranga Yatras would be organized statewide from May 16–18, celebrating the courage and sacrifice of India’s armed forces, stating,
“This is a people’s movement. Every terrorist who crosses into our borders should know—it will be their last day.”
Pawan Kalyan: “We Will Enter Their Homes If Needed”
Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan delivered a fierce message, targeting Pakistan and its role in fostering terrorism.
“If you dare to enter our land, we will enter yours. Peace talks mean nothing to those who plant bombs in Mumbai, Coimbatore, and Hyderabad,” he warned.
He also took aim at critics within the country, saying,
“We must not tolerate pseudo-secularists who demean our forces. Supporting the military is the duty of every citizen.”
Tribute to Martyr Murali Nayak
CM Naidu paid homage to Murali Nayak, a braveheart who sacrificed his life during Operation Sindoor.
“He is an immortal symbol of courage. His spirit lives on,” Naidu said, adding that the safety and sovereignty of the nation rest on the shoulders of such heroes.
Purandeshwari Praises National Unity
BJP State President Daggubati Purandeshwari echoed the sentiment, praising the spontaneous turnout of citizens in the yatra.
“When terrorists killed 26 of our people, we responded with strength. Our response has made even Pakistan plead for the release of Indus waters,” she said.
“This Tiranga Yatra proves that the soul of India stands united behind its armed forces.”
A Wave of Patriotism
The rally, which started at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Stadium and concluded at Benz Circle, was marked by powerful chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Vande Mataram.” Among those present were BJP and TDP leaders, MLAs, MLCs, and thousands of ordinary citizens, including children waving flags with pride.
