In a forceful address at the conclusion of the TDP Mahanadu in Devani, Kadapa, Chief Minister and TDP National President N. Chandrababu Naidu laid out an ambitious vision for Andhra Pradesh, pledging sustained development, targeted action against corruption, and a transformative plan for the Rayalaseema region.
Naidu emphasized that governance should not mirror a game of “Vaikunthapali” (Snakes and Ladders), where progress is sporadic and uncertain. “Andhra Pradesh cannot afford to rise once, fall again, and repeat the cycle. Consistent development and good governance must continue,” he declared.
Recalling the missed opportunities due to TDP’s defeat in 2019, Naidu stated that had his party returned to power then, many planned projects would already be complete. He urged citizens to carefully evaluate leadership based on performance and vision.
“People must ask who can truly deliver development. Telangana became the top state economically due to the foundation we laid in Hyderabad before 2004. Andhra can achieve similar miracles if governance remains steady,” he said.
Crackdown on ‘Economic Terrorists’
In one of the speech’s most hard-hitting segments, Naidu launched a scathing attack on what he termed “economic terrorists” – individuals who, under the guise of politics, looted public resources.
“They’ve plundered lands, forests, hills, and water bodies. Fake liquor, branded ‘J’, has damaged lives. Youth are falling victim to drugs and ganja. But under the CBN-NDA government, anyone selling such poison will face their final day,” he warned. He added, “We will run trains in the hearts of these economic terrorists,” metaphorically signaling relentless pursuit and punishment.
Rayalaseema Mission: Transforming the Region
Naidu unveiled a comprehensive ‘Rayalaseema Mission’, pledging to transform the region into a “jewel of the state” through major educational, judicial, and industrial investments.
In Tirupati: IIT, ICER, Indian Culinary Institute, Sanskrit University
In Kurnool: Urdu University, IIIT, and a proposed High Court bench
In Anantapur: National Academy of Customs, Central University
In Kadapa: Rayalaseema Steel Plant work to begin by June 12, generating 3,500 jobs
Naidu added that tenders worth ₹5,000 crore have been floated for industrial parks in Kopparthi and Orvakal.
Infrastructure & Welfare Updates
The CM reported major financial progress:
₹12,150 crore released for Polavaram Project
₹11,400 crore secured for Visakhapatnam Steel Plant
₹15,000 crore sanctioned for Amaravati development
A dedicated Railway Zone established
Plans underway for Quantum Valley in Amaravati
₹7.5 lakh crore in total investments attracted
Naidu also highlighted the digital governance push, with 380 citizen services already available via WhatsApp, expected to rise to 500 by June 12.
Who is the Real Champion of Rayalaseema?
In a pointed political comparison, Naidu contrasted TDP’s record in Rayalaseema with that of YSRCP, stating:
“Between 2014–2019, TDP invested ₹12,441 crore in irrigation. YSRCP spent barely ₹2,000 crore in five years. We brought development, and we will continue to deliver it.”
He also announced a ₹1,000 crore grant for the Galeru-Nagari Sujala Sravanti scheme and reaffirmed commitment to complete the Annamayya Project. “Tell me, who is the true darling of Rayalaseema?” he asked the crowd, drawing a thunderous response.
