China Launches Gaofen-11 05 Earth Observation Satellite from[ Taiyuan
China successfully launched the Gaofen-11 05 Earth observation satellite at 11:03 a.m. (Beijing Time) on Friday from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province, marking a significant advancement in its space capabilities.
The satellite, deployed via a Long March-4B carrier rocket, achieved its planned orbit without issue, according to Xinhua news agency. Gaofen-11 05 will play a crucial role in diverse applications such as land surveys, urban planning, road network design, crop yield estimation, land ownership verification, disaster prevention, and national defence modernisation efforts.
China Global Television Network (CGTN) reported that the satellite will also support initiatives like the Belt and Road Initiative, contributing vital information for regional development and international cooperation.
This launch represents the 528th flight mission of the Long March rocket series and underscores China’s commitment to expanding its High-resolution Earth Observation System (CHEOS) through the Gaofen satellite series.
