WAVES 2025 Kicks Off in Mumbai with Star-Studded Inauguration
The World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 commenced today at the Jio World Centre in Mumbai, marking a significant moment for India’s media and entertainment industry. The four-day global summit is jointly organized by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Government of Maharashtra.
The inaugural edition of WAVES 2025 was officially opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is dedicating a full 10 hours from his schedule to participate in the summit’s proceedings. As part of the inauguration, the Prime Minister is scheduled to engage with industry leaders, CEOs, and key stakeholders from the global media and entertainment sectors.
The summit aims to serve as a comprehensive platform to foster collaboration, innovation, and investment across the audio-visual and entertainment landscape. It will feature a series of keynote addresses, panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions, with participation from top professionals and policymakers.
Adding to the glamour and significance of the event, Telugu cinema megastar Chiranjeevi arrived in Mumbai on Wednesday to attend the summit. He was joined by renowned Bollywood actors including Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Mohanlal, among others. The celebrities were accorded a grand welcome by the organizers, underscoring the high-profile nature of the event.
WAVES 2025 is expected to catalyze major partnerships and policy dialogues, positioning India as a global hub for media and entertainment. It also provides a platform to highlight the country’s creative economy and promote Indian talent on an international scale.
