Chandrababu Naidu Defends Central Government’s Language Policy and Delimitation Process

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has expressed his support for the central government’s three-language policy, emphasizing that language is simply a tool for communication. Naidu questioned the opposition to learning additional languages, asserting that there is no issue with learning English, an international language, or Hindi, the most widely spoken language in India, alongside one’s mother tongue. While he acknowledged that learning in one’s native language is ideal, he highlighted that acquiring proficiency in other languages should not be viewed negatively.

Addressing concerns raised by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin regarding constituency delimitation, Naidu dismissed the objections, asserting that the process is necessary for national interests. He clarified that the central government, led by the NDA, has no political agenda behind the delimitation and emphasized its importance in adapting to the country’s changing demographic needs. Naidu noted that constituency delimitation is a process that takes place every 25 years, driven by population growth and the need for fair representation.

Naidu further elaborated that the ongoing boundary redefinition is a matter of national importance and should not be viewed through a political lens. He pointed out that while boundary adjustments are vital for ensuring equitable representation, population management and delimitation are distinct issues that need to be approached pragmatically.

In addition to addressing language and delimitation concerns, Naidu revealed plans to introduce ten foreign languages in Andhra Pradesh universities. This initiative, he explained, aims to broaden the career prospects of students by enabling them to pursue job opportunities in their preferred countries. By equipping students with foreign language skills, Naidu believes the state will enhance its educational offerings and boost its students’ global competitiveness.

Chandrababu Naidu’s comments reflect a forward-thinking approach towards language education, demographic management, and the importance of preparing students for global opportunities.
