Andhra Pradesh Continues to Face Heavy Rains Post-Cyclone Fengal, CM Chandrababu Naidu Urges Caution
Even after Cyclone Fengal made landfall in the Bay of Bengal, Andhra Pradesh continues to experience heavy rainfall, particularly in the South Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema districts. The ongoing weather conditions have prompted Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to convene a review meeting to assess the situation and ensure timely relief for those affected.
During the meeting, CM Chandrababu highlighted that the adverse weather conditions might persist for another two days, urging the public and authorities to remain cautious. He instructed officials to assess the damage to crops caused by the heavy rains and ensure that compensation is provided to the affected farmers. In addition to this, the Chief Minister directed the procurement of wet paddy to alleviate the financial strain on the farming community.
Reports from the authorities revealed that 53 mandals across the state had been impacted by the cyclone, with relief camps set up in the affected areas to accommodate those displaced by the heavy rains. Evacuations were carried out to ensure the safety of the residents. The review meeting, which focused on coordinating relief efforts and minimizing further damage, was held at the Chief Minister’s residence in Undavalli.
As the state continues to deal with the aftermath of Cyclone Fengal, the focus remains on providing immediate relief and support to the affected communities, especially the farming sector, which has been hit hard by the unrelenting rains.
