Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan Make Significant Strides in Andhra Pradesh Governance
In a notable shift in Andhra Pradesh politics, the 2024 assembly elections marked a pivotal moment as the alliance between Chandrababu Naidu and Pawan Kalyan emerged as a formidable force against the YSR Congress Party. The coalition, forged with Pawan Kalyan’s instrumental role, proved to be a critical challenge for Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Acknowledging Pawan Kalyan’s pivotal contributions to the alliance and his role in toppling Reddy’s administration, Naidu rewarded him with the esteemed position of Deputy Chief Minister. Kalyan has been entrusted with significant portfolios, including Panchayat Raj, Rural Development, and Rural Water Supply, as well as Environment and Science and Technology.
In a recent cabinet meeting, Naidu, alongside Kalyan and senior officials, reviewed key departments for the first time since the formation of the new cabinet. Noteworthy updates included increased budget allocations for Independence and Republic Day celebrations at the Gram Panchayat level, now ranging between Rs 10,000 and Rs 25,000.
Pawan Kalyan also announced the development of a special mobile application aimed at enhancing sanitation management in rural areas. Additionally, Naidu revealed the abolition of the disqualification rule for candidates with more than two children in local body elections, with a recent amendment bill receiving cabinet approval. Discussions also covered plans to raise the honorarium for local organization representatives, reflecting ongoing efforts to bolster governance and public service in the state.
