In a strategic move to bolster its organizational machinery in Telangana, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) on Thursday announced a series of significant appointments within the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). The high-level reshuffle is part of a broader effort to sharpen the party’s political strategy and readiness ahead of key electoral battles in the state.
According to an official statement issued by the AICC from its headquarters in New Delhi, several critical committees have been constituted to strengthen the operational and strategic framework of the TPCC.
Key among the appointments is a 22-member Political Affairs Committee, tasked with overseeing major political developments, formulating strategy, and providing real-time counsel on state-level issues. This committee is expected to play a pivotal role in steering the Telangana Congress through complex political terrain in the months ahead. In parallel, the AICC has formed a 15-member Advisory Committee comprising senior and seasoned leaders who will offer guidance on party policies and future initiatives. This body will serve as a think tank for the TPCC, helping to shape the party’s vision and response to emerging challenges.
To prepare for future constituency reorganization, a seven-member Delimitation Committee has also been established. This committee will handle internal party affairs and planning related to the anticipated delimitation process in Telangana.
In support of the party’s nationwide “Save the Constitution” (Samvidhaan Bachao) campaign, a dedicated 16-member state-level implementation committee has been appointed. This group will be responsible for promoting constitutional values and mobilizing public support for the programme across Telangana.
Underscoring the importance of maintaining discipline within the ranks, the AICC has also set up a six-member Disciplinary Action Committee. This committee will be empowered to examine cases of misconduct and take necessary corrective action to uphold party decorum and unity.
The AICC noted that the formation of these committees reflects its commitment to revitalizing the Telangana Congress and ensuring its preparedness for the upcoming political contests. “These organizational changes are aimed at enhancing the TPCC’s internal cohesion, strategic clarity, and grassroots engagement as we enter a critical political phase,” said a senior Congress leader familiar with the restructuring.
The reshuffle signals the Congress party’s intent to reposition itself as a formidable political force in Telangana, with a stronger leadership structure and focused agenda heading into the next election cycle.
