Hyderabad: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy embarked on a public engagement journey aboard a state-owned Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus in the city. The duo utilized this opportunity to elucidate to passengers the various schemes outlined in the party’s Manifesto for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Commencing their journey at Dil Sukh Nagar, Rahul and CM Reddy engaged with passengers during the RTC bus ride. Rahul Gandhi, particularly, sought information regarding the complimentary bus travel facility for women provided by the RTC.
During the journey, Rahul Gandhi conscientiously elaborated on the nuances of Yuva Nyay, Kisan Nyay, Nari Nyay, and Shramik Nyay, all integral components of the Congress Manifesto for the forthcoming 2024 Lok Sabha election.
Meanwhile, at a public rally held in Medak, Telangana, Rahul Gandhi made a commitment to create 30 lakh government employment opportunities upon the ascension of the opposition coalition, INDIA bloc, to power at the Centre.
Expressing concern over the prevailing unemployment crisis, Rahul Gandhi directed criticism towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, attributing the situation to the policies of the incumbent government, which, he claimed, had resulted in widespread unemployment.
In his address to the gathering in Medak, Rahul Gandhi articulated the Congress party’s proposal of ensuring job security through its ‘first job is permanent’ scheme, guaranteeing apprenticeships to educated youth with an accompanying financial support of Rs 1 lakh. Additionally, he pledged to initiate the process of filling 30 lakh government job vacancies promptly upon the formation of the INDIA government on June 4.
Accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of harboring intentions to undermine the Constitution, Rahul Gandhi underscored the ideological clash characterizing the ongoing general elections. He emphasized the pivotal role of the Constitution in safeguarding the rights of the marginalized sections of society and vowed to uphold its integrity against perceived threats posed by the BJP and its ideological affiliates.
Furthermore, Rahul Gandhi criticized the alleged favoritism exhibited by the Modi administration towards corporate interests, citing the example of industrialist Adani. He pledged to institute policies aimed at wealth redistribution, promising financial assistance to economically disadvantaged households and outlining plans for conducting a comprehensive caste census to ensure equitable representation for all segments of society.
The upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Telangana, encompassing 17 constituencies, are scheduled for May 13, constituting the fourth phase of the electoral process.
