ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour Concludes India Leg, Heads to Pakistan
The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 Trophy Tour has wrapped up its successful journey through India, having made memorable stops at iconic locations in Mumbai and Bengaluru. This global journey has taken the prestigious trophy to all eight participating nations, and with India’s leg now complete, the tour has moved on to its final stop in Pakistan.
The ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to take place in Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates from February 19 to March 9. The Trophy Tour in India kicked off in Mumbai, where the coveted silverware visited some of the city’s most renowned landmarks, including the Wankhede Stadium, Shivaji Park, Gateway of India, Carter Road, Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus, and Bandstand. Fans across Mumbai had the unique opportunity to see the trophy up close, capturing the moment through photos and selfies as it made its way through the vibrant streets of the city.
One of the highlights of the Mumbai leg was the trophy’s presence at the Wankhede Stadium’s 50th anniversary celebration on January 19. The event saw India’s captain Rohit Sharma alongside former captains Dilip Vengsarkar, Ravi Shastri, Ajinkya Rahane, and ICC Hall of Famers Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, and Diana Edulji, all posing with the trophy, adding to the glamour of the occasion.
Following its Mumbai tour, the Champions Trophy journey moved to Bengaluru, where the Nexus Shantiniketan Mall hosted a Trophy Carnival. The event attracted cricket fans from all over the city, as the trophy toured Bengaluru’s famous spots, including Bengaluru Palace, Freedom Park, KR Market, Town Hall, St. Mary’s Basilica, M Chinnaswamy Stadium, and Vidyarthi Bhavan, further fueling excitement for the upcoming tournament.
With the India leg now concluded, the glittering trophy has started its second leg in Pakistan, making its first stop at the Hiran Minar complex in Sheikhupura. Over the next 14 days, the trophy will be showcased in ten different cities across Pakistan, including Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar, and Quetta. It will also be on display at the upgraded Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore during the opening match of the tri-nation series between Pakistan and New Zealand on February 8.
The global Trophy Tour, which began in Pakistan on November 16, will conclude in Karachi on February 14, just days before the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 kicks off. The tournament’s opening match will see hosts Pakistan face off against New Zealand on February 19, marking the start of what is expected to be an exciting and thrilling international cricket event.
