Kannada Star Darshan Granted Six-Week Interim Bail for Medical Surgery
Kannada film star Darshan has received temporary relief from custody amid ongoing allegations related to the murder case of his fan, Renuka Swamy. The Karnataka High Court granted him a six-week interim bail earlier today to allow for necessary medical surgery.
Darshan was arrested on June 11 for his alleged involvement in the murder of Renukaswamy. Following a denial of his initial bail request by the sessions court in September, he sought relief from the Karnataka High Court. In his appeal, Darshan cited suffering from numbness in his feet, which requires surgical intervention. He expressed his intention to undergo the procedure at a private hospital in Mysuru and confirmed that he would cover the costs personally.
In response to Darshan’s petition, the state submitted sealed medical reports from doctors at Ballari Central Prison, along with evaluations from a neurologist at a government hospital in Ballari. After reviewing these reports, Justice S. Vishwajith Shetty of the High Court granted Darshan temporary bail, emphasizing the need for him to receive medical treatment.
This development marks a significant moment in the high-profile case, as Darshan navigates both legal challenges and personal health issues.
