Telangana Drugs Control Administration Conducts Raids, Seizes Illegally Marketed Drugs
Hyderabad: The Drugs Control Administration (DCA) of Telangana has conducted 20 seizures related to various violations including misleading advertisements, price discrepancies, illegal stocking, and the sale of drugs misrepresented as food products or nutraceuticals between June 1 and 21.
According to Director General Kamalasan Reddy, the seized stocks amount to Rs. 4.5 lakh.

Among the seizures, Mangrove Healthcare in Kukatpally was found marketing ‘curry leaf’ powder falsely as an Ayurvedic medicine claiming to treat diabetes, as per DCA findings.
On June 21, during a raid in Shabad, DCA officials discovered International Herbal Corporation Pvt Ltd in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, selling ‘Shri Tulasi’ as an Ayurvedic fever treatment.
Earlier, on June 7, DCA identified Sheri Lavakusha Reddy operating an unlicensed medical shop in Mahabubnagar town, seizing 65 varieties of allopathic drugs valued at Rs. 1.5 lakhs, including antibiotics and steroids.
Director General VB Kamalasan Reddy urged the public to report any concerns regarding illegal drug activities to Telangana DCA’s toll-free number 1800-599-6969, operational from 10:30 am to 5 pm on all working days.
