New Delhi Prepares Security Measures for PM Modi’s Third Term Oath Ceremony
New Delhi: The Delhi Police has enforced prohibitory orders and declared the national capital a no-fly zone in preparation for Narendra Modi’s third-term oath-taking ceremony on June 9, as per an order issued by Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora on Friday.
The prohibitory orders will remain in effect for two days, June 9 and 10, aimed at ensuring public safety amidst concerns over potential threats posed by criminal elements, anti-social groups, or terrorists hostile to India, as stated in the order.
“In exercise of the powers under section 144 of the CrPC, I prohibit the flying of sub-conventional aerial platforms including para gliders, para-motors, hang gliders, UAVs, UASs, microlight aircraft, remotely piloted aircraft, hot air balloons, small size powered aircraft, quadcopters, or para jumping from aircraft over Delhi during the swearing-in ceremony,” Arora emphasized, noting that violations will be punishable under section 188 of the Indian Penal Code.
Given the logistical challenges of individually serving notices to all concerned parties, the order is issued ex parte, effective from June 9 through June 10, the order stipulated.
