In a heartwarming and rare public moment, actor Dhanush and his ex-wife Aishwaryaa Rajinikanth came together to celebrate their elder son Yathra’s school graduation, marking a touching reunion that melted fans’ hearts across social media.
The Raanjhanaa star took to Instagram to share two intimate snapshots from the ceremony, showing both parents embracing their son with pride and affection. Dhanush simply captioned the post: “Proud Parents #Yathra”, accompanied by two heart emojis — a subtle yet powerful message of unity beyond separation.
Dressed in a crisp white shirt paired with black trousers and sporting a sharp crew cut, Dhanush looked every bit the proud father. Aishwaryaa, meanwhile, radiated elegance in an off-white ensemble, standing beside her former partner as they congratulated their son on this significant academic milestone.
This emotional reunion comes nearly three years after their separation. The former couple, who tied the knot in 2004 in a star-studded ceremony in Chennai, had parted ways in January 2022 after 18 years of marriage. Their dignified joint statement at the time had requested privacy as they embarked on separate paths while continuing to co-parent their children.
Their divorce was officially granted by the Chennai family court on November 27, 2024, but the recent pictures prove that their bond as parents remains strong.
Dhanush’s Upcoming Projects
On the professional front, Dhanush is gearing up for “Kuberaa”, an eagerly awaited drama directed by Sekhar Kammula. The film, backed by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao, features a stellar ensemble including Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil.
Adding to his impressive lineup, Dhanush is also set to star in the biopic “Kalam”, based on the life of India’s beloved former President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The film is already generating buzz for its inspirational subject and Dhanush’s transformative roles.
Despite personal changes, Dhanush and Aishwaryaa continue to set an example of mature co-parenting, reminding everyone that family comes first — no matter what shape it takes.
