Dil Raju Addresses IT Raids, Clarifies Industry Misconceptions
Prominent Tollywood film producer ‘Dil’ Raju, whose residence and office were recently subjected to a four-day Income Tax (IT) raid, addressed the media after the conclusion of the searches. The raids, which also extended to the residences of his family members, have stirred discussions about financial practices within the film industry.
During the press briefing, ‘Dil’ Raju dismissed claims of black money circulating within the film industry, asserting, “There is no black money in the industry. With nearly 80% of tickets being booked online, it’s impossible for black money to be involved.” His statement was a direct counter to growing concerns about unaccounted money in the film sector.
The producer also responded to a query regarding the practice of fake box office collection posters. “If there’s any truth to this issue, the producers will come together soon for a meeting to address it,” he said. He emphasized that it would not be appropriate for him to comment on the matter alone.
Addressing another question about political leaders allegedly investing in his films, ‘Dil’ Raju responded with humor, saying, “If you know of anyone, let me know! We are paying high interest rates to external lenders, and it would be a relief if someone could help.”
The producer also clarified that, in the last five years, he has not purchased any real estate or made investments in other business ventures, quelling rumors about his financial activities beyond the film industry.
His comments offer clarity amid ongoing speculation and provide a broader understanding of the operational and financial dynamics in the entertainment industry.
