Dubai Students Engage in Volunteer Initiatives at Indian Schools During Summer Break
In a notable development, students from Dubai are actively participating in volunteer programs at Indian schools during their summer vacations, fostering community engagement and educational support.
Led by K. Venkatraman, renowned as the Pencil Man of the UAE, a group of six students accompanied by a teacher from ‘GEMS Our Own High School Al Warqaa’ in Dubai joined the School4School project. This initiative aims to enhance educational opportunities in Kerala, South India, by involving international students in volunteer activities.
During their time in Kerala, the Dubai students, hosted by GEMS Modern Academy, Kochi (GMA), engaged in various activities to assist local schools. They mentored younger students, supported teachers in educational activities, and participated in community-driven initiatives promoting well-being.
The volunteer group also organized clean-up drives in the school vicinity and distributed meals to the local community, reflecting their commitment to contributing positively during their visit.
The School4School project underscores the importance of global citizenship and the impact of cross-cultural educational initiatives in fostering a spirit of community service among students.
