Faulty Cooler Electrocutes Mother and Daughter in Telangana Village
In a heartbreaking incident during the sweltering summer, a malfunctioning air cooler claimed the lives of a woman and her teenage daughter in Gulla Tanda village of Jukkal Mandal, Kamareddy district, Telangana.
According to Jukkal Sub-Inspector Bhubaneshwar and local residents, the deceased have been identified as Shankarabai (36) and her 16-year-old daughter, Sharvani. The mother and daughter had retired for the night while the rest of the family was away. At some point during the night, Sharvani attempted to adjust the locally assembled cooler and was fatally electrocuted. Her mother, in a desperate attempt to save her, was also electrocuted.
Locals who discovered the tragic scene immediately informed the authorities. Circle Inspector Naresh visited the location and initiated a formal investigation. Preliminary reports suggest the electric shock occurred due to faulty wiring in the locally manufactured cooler.
This unfortunate incident has raised concerns about the safety of low-quality electrical appliances being used in rural households, especially during the summer when coolers are in high demand. Authorities are urging residents to ensure their home appliances are checked for electrical safety and to avoid using unregulated or uncertified equipment.
The local community is mourning the sudden and tragic loss of two lives, and officials have assured that further steps will be taken to raise awareness about electrical safety in the region.
