SpaceX CEO Elon Musk Outlines Future Vision for Space Travel
New Delhi: SpaceX CEO Elon Musk shared his vision on Saturday, stating that in the future, SpaceX will enable individuals to journey to space, the Moon, and Mars.
“Over time, SpaceX will enable anyone to go to space and travel to the moon and Mars,” Musk announced on X social media platform.
Musk highlighted that SpaceX is on track to surpass 90% of all Earth’s payload to low-Earth orbit by the end of this year.
Currently, SpaceX’s Falcon rocket is nearly 80% reusable, with its upcoming mega rocket ‘Starship’ aiming for nearly 100% reusability.
The Starship is anticipated to land astronauts on the Moon during the crewed Artemis 3 mission scheduled for 2026.
Having completed three successful test flights, Starship is preparing for its fourth flight test, pending regulatory approval, scheduled potentially as soon as June 5, according to the company.
The upcoming test aims to demonstrate the ability to return and reuse Starship and its Super Heavy booster, focusing on executing a landing burn and soft splashdown in the Gulf of Mexico, and achieving a controlled entry of Starship.
Meanwhile, SpaceX’s satellite-based internet service, Starlink, has surpassed 3 million customers across 99 countries. The service, known for its affordability, has recently launched in Indonesia and Fiji.
