MM Keeravani Criticizes Previous Andhra Pradesh Government, Pays Tribute to Ramoji Rao
Renowned music director MM Keeravani, known for his candid nature, recently made notable comments about the previous government in Andhra Pradesh during a memorial event for Ramoji Rao.
In his speech, Keeravani honored Ramoji Rao by drawing a parallel between him and the legendary Bhishma from the Mahabharata. He remarked, “I have always said that if we must live, we should live like Ramoji Rao. Now I say that even in death, we should aspire to be like him. Bhishma in the Kurukshetra battle postponed his death until Uttarayanam. Similarly, Ramoji Rao witnessed the liberation of Andhra Pradesh from oppressive forces before his passing. Therefore, even in death, one should aspire to be like him.”
Keeravani’s comments implicitly criticized the previous government’s handling of the state. He further defended Ramoji Rao against detractors, likening efforts to tarnish his reputation to “throwing mud at the sun.”
Keeravani also shared personal memories, recalling how Ramoji Rao gave him his first opportunity as a music director. Despite Rao’s atheism, Keeravani mentioned that he keeps a photograph of Rao in his prayer room, reflecting his deep respect and admiration for the late media mogul.
