The Election Commission lifted the embargo on exit poll publication today at 6:30 pm following the conclusion of the final phase of Lok Sabha elections. Various media organizations promptly released their exit poll results, which aim to predict election outcomes based on surveys conducted with voters immediately after they leave polling stations.

Most exit polls indicate a significant victory for the BJP-led NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, suggesting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will secure a third consecutive term. According to Republic Bharat (P Marq), NDA is projected to win 359 seats. India News (D-Dyanamics) predicts 371 seats for NDA, while Republic Bharat (Matrize) estimates NDA seats between 353 and 368. TV 5 Telugu exit poll forecasts 359 seats for the BJP-led alliance.

NDTV India projects 365 seats for the BJP-led NDA and predicts 141-161 seats for the opposition INDIA bloc. ABP (C-voter) anticipates a closely contested battle between NDA and INDIA bloc in several states, with final exit poll results yet to be published.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aged 73, and his party, the BJP, are widely expected to secure reelection. The Congress, part of the opposition INDIA bloc, is facing challenges following electoral losses and defections.

In the 2019 elections, the BJP won 303 seats, and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) secured 352 seats in total. The Congress garnered 52 seats, contributing to the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) total of 91 seats.

This election, the BJP has set a target of 370 seats and aims to surpass 400 seats with support from its allies. The Lower House of Parliament comprises 543 seats, with the majority mark set at 272.

The election results are scheduled to be announced on Tuesday, June 4.
