Special 10-Day Session of Lok Sabha to Commence on June 24
New Delhi: A special 10-day session of the Lok Sabha will begin on June 24, featuring the oath/affirmation of newly elected Members, the Election of the Speaker, the President’s Address, and subsequent discussions.
This announcement was made on Wednesday by Union Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, in a post on X.
He stated that the special session of the Lok Sabha will conclude on July 3. The Rajya Sabha will convene on June 27 and also conclude on July 3.
“The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha is being summoned from June 24, 2024, to July 3, 2024, for the oath/affirmation of newly elected Members, the Election of the Speaker, the President’s Address, and discussions thereof. The 264th session of the Rajya Sabha will commence on June 27, 2024, and conclude on July 3, 2024,” Rijiju posted.
He further added, “The people of India have spoken, and it is our ‘sacred duty’ to serve the nation. Parliament is the ideal platform to discuss, debate, and deliver to meet the aspirations of 140 crore Indians.”
