Andhra Pradesh Government Reclaims 17.69 Acres of Land from Saraswati Power, Hits Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy
The Andhra Pradesh government has taken significant action by reclaiming 17.69 acres of assigned land from Saraswati Power in Machavaram Mandal, a move that has deepened the ongoing land dispute involving former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family. This development is seen as a setback for Reddy, who is also the leader of the YSR Congress Party.
The dispute, which also involves Reddy’s sister, Y.S. Sharmila, and mother, Y.S. Vijayamma, has recently moved to the courts. In response to the legal challenges, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan instructed officials to investigate the ownership and status of assigned lands associated with Saraswati Power in Machavaram.
A thorough investigation was conducted by a team of officials, including Machavaram MRO Kshamarani, VRO Akhil, RI Koteswara Rao, Surveyor Salman Raju, and Deputy Forest Range Officer K. Vijayalakshmi, along with beat officers Venkateswarlu and Manoj. The team carefully reviewed land records, including RSR and FMB documents, to ascertain the ownership and legality of the assigned lands.
Following the examination, the officials submitted a detailed report, recommending the reclamation of the 17.69 acres of land. Acting on these findings, the Andhra Pradesh government issued formal orders to reclaim the land, marking a decisive move in the ongoing dispute. This decision is expected to have significant political and legal implications for Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and his family.
