Health Minister Likely to Revoke Suspension of Doctor in Zaheerabad Hospital Incident
Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) State President Dr. Narahari, along with TVVP Commissioner Ajay Kumar, met Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha on Monday to discuss the widely publicized incident at Zaheerabad Government Hospital, where a doctor was seen providing treatment under cellphone light due to a power outage.
The incident, which sparked widespread concern and criticism, led to the suspension of the attending doctor. During the meeting, the TGGDA delegation presented the facts of the case to the minister, clarifying the circumstances and advocating for a fair review.
According to the association, Health Minister Rajanarsimha responded positively to the concerns raised and agreed in principle to withdraw the suspension after reviewing the facts presented. General Secretary Dr. Lalu Prasad Rathod, Treasurer M.K. Rauf, and CEC member Dr. Rajasekhar were also part of the delegation.
The association expressed optimism that the issue would be resolved soon and emphasized the importance of systemic improvements to prevent such incidents in the future, rather than punitive n against frontline medical professionals.
