Actress Hema, also known as Krishnaveni in police records, was arrested by Karnataka police on Monday following controversy over her alleged involvement in the Bengaluru Rave Party incident, despite earlier criticisms of media coverage. Appearing before a magistrate, she was remanded to 14 days of judicial custody. During her transfer from Hyderabad to Bengaluru, she expressed surprise when approached by reporters, denying any wrongdoing and asserting that she had left the party after a cake-cutting ceremony and had not consumed drugs.
Hema claimed she had returned to Hyderabad and even posted a video of herself preparing biryani on Instagram. However, questions arose over another video where she initially claimed to be at her farmhouse near Hyderabad rather than at the Bengaluru venue. Upon arriving at the police station in a burkha, she was asked to remove it. Police have reported positive drug test results for Hema and accused her of obstructing the investigation with misleading information. The investigation by Bengaluru police is ongoing, with further developments anticipated.
