Medchal MLA Malla Reddy Faces Allegations Over Land Deal with Relative
Hyderabad: Ch Malla Reddy, the Medchal BRS MLA, is embroiled in a fresh controversy after his close relative, Kallem Narasimha Reddy, accused him of not fully paying for land he purchased. Narasimha Reddy, 87, a resident of Domalaguda, claimed that Malla Reddy had negotiated to buy 9.19 acres out of a 23.26-acre plot in Shamirpet’s Yadaram and Turkapally villages. The two reportedly agreed on a price of Rs 2.25 crore per acre, totaling Rs 20.67 crore for the sale.
However, Narasimha Reddy alleges that Malla Reddy only paid Rs 8.03 crore in installments and still owes Rs 14 crore, for which cheques were issued but subsequently bounced. The land was registered under the name of M/s CMR Infrastructure and Developers Pvt Ltd in June, but Narasimha Reddy claimed that Malla Reddy not only failed to make the full payment but also obstructed access to the rest of his land, which was not part of the deal. According to Narasimha Reddy, this obstruction prevents him from entering the remaining 18 acres of his land.
The 87-year-old also accused the MLA of using similar tactics to take advantage of smaller farmers in the past. “I sold the land to him trusting him because he is a close relative, but he has broken that trust and is troubling an elderly man like me,” Narasimha Reddy said, expressing his intention to seek help from Congress leader Revanth Reddy.
The allegations have raised questions about the ethics of land dealings and the conduct of public figures in the region. The controversy has gained attention, and further developments are expected as the matter unfolds.
