Hyderabad: The District Education Officer (DEO) of Hyderabad has issued directives prohibiting private schools from engaging in profiteering through the sale of school uniforms, books, stationery, and related items to students.
In an order dated May 30th, all Deputy Educational Officers and Deputy Inspectors of Schools in Hyderabad district have been instructed to ensure that no private school, whether affiliated with State/CBSE/ICSE, sells uniforms, shoes, belts, etc., within school premises.
The DEO has mandated the formation of mandal-level committees overseen by Deputy Educational Officers to conduct regular monitoring of private schools. These committees are tasked with ensuring compliance with the directive prohibiting the sale of uniforms, shoes, belts, and related items on school premises.
Furthermore, the order emphasizes adherence to court rulings regarding the sale of books, notebooks, and stationery at school counters, stipulating that such sales must be conducted on a non-commercial, no-profit-no-loss basis. Any violations are to be reported to the issuing authority for appropriate action.
