Hyderabad Schools to Observe General Holiday on August 26 for Sri Krishna Ashtami
Hyderabad: Schools in Hyderabad will be closed on August 26, following the government’s declaration of a general holiday for Sri Krishna Ashtami, as per the Telangana calendar. This marks the second general holiday for schools this month, the first being on August 15 for Independence Day.
In addition to the Sri Krishna Ashtami holiday, some schools had previously observed holidays for Raksha Bandhan and heavy rainfall. Looking ahead, two more general holidays are scheduled for next month: Vinayaka Chavithi on September 7 and Eid Milad-un-Nabi, tentatively on September 16, depending on the sighting of the crescent moon.
Arbayeen, which commemorates the martyrdom of Imam Hussain and falls on August 26, is also noted, though it is recognized as an optional holiday according to the Telangana calendar. Schools have chosen to close in observance of both Sri Krishna Ashtami and Arbayeen.
