Dambulla: Defending champions India delivered a dominant performance, defeating Bangladesh by 10 wickets on Friday to advance to the final of the Women’s T20 Asia Cup.
Chasing a modest target of 81 runs, openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma achieved the goal in just 11 overs, finishing with 54 balls to spare. Mandhana scored an unbeaten 55 from 39 balls, featuring nine fours and a six, while Verma contributed 26 not out, including two boundaries.
Earlier in the match, India’s bowlers were exceptional. Renuka Singh Thakur dismantled Bangladesh’s top order with figures of 3/10, and Radha Yadav supported with 3/14. Consequently, Bangladesh was restricted to 80/8 in their allotted 20 overs.
