In a significant stride for India’s global diplomatic outreach, an Indian All-Party Parliamentary delegation led by BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad held a high-level briefing in Copenhagen with Indian Ambassador to Denmark, Manish Prabhat, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and promoting global cooperation.
At the heart of the discussions was the India-Denmark Green Strategic Partnership, a joint initiative that underscores both nations’ commitment to sustainable development, climate innovation, and green energy solutions. The dialogue also addressed shared democratic values and pressing international concerns—including the global challenge of terrorism.
“The delegation received a detailed briefing on the India-Denmark bilateral relationship, the Green Strategic Partnership, and the ongoing cooperation in areas of mutual concern such as counter-terrorism,” posted the Embassy of India in Copenhagen on X (formerly Twitter).
The delegation’s visit is part of India’s proactive diplomatic campaign to highlight Operation Sindoor—India’s assertive policy response to cross-border terrorism, particularly stemming from Pakistan. Ambassador Prabhat welcomed the delegation upon arrival and emphasized Denmark’s role as a vital European partner in India’s global engagements.
During their stay, the nine-member delegation is set to meet with Lars-Christian Brask, Deputy Speaker of the Danish Parliament, Christian Friis Bach, Chairman of the Foreign Policy Committee, along with several current and former lawmakers, political leaders, members of the Indian diaspora, and Danish media professionals.
Representing a wide political spectrum, the delegation includes:
- Ravi Shankar Prasad (BJP) – Delegation leader
- Daggubati Purandeswari (BJP)
- Priyanka Chaturvedi (Shiv Sena – UBT)
- Ghulam Ali Khatana (BJP)
- Amar Singh (Congress)
- Samik Bhattacharya (BJP)
- M. Thambidurai (AIADMK)
- Former Union Minister M.J. Akbar
- Former Ambassador Pankaj Saran
This visit follows the delegation’s recent tour of Italy, where they engaged with top political leaders, strategic thinkers, and the Indian community. The group emphasized India’s zero-tolerance policy on terrorism, drawing parallels between India’s and Italy’s shared commitment to global peace and security.
“We had enriching exchanges with Italian leaders, including Maria Tripodi, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs, and Senator Giulio Tremonti, reaffirming a shared stance against terrorism and a commitment to global harmony,” posted Ravi Shankar Prasad on X.
With back-to-back strategic stops across Europe, the Indian parliamentary delegation continues to amplify India’s evolving foreign policy narrative—marked by firm national security stances, sustainable development diplomacy, and renewed global partnerships.
