Amid escalating tensions along the India-Pakistan border, the Government of India has intensified its security posture under the banner of ‘Operation Sindoor’, aimed at countering cross-border provocations and terrorist infiltration attempts.
The Centre remains on high alert, actively monitoring all emergency systems and coordinating with key security agencies. A series of high-level meetings have been convened to assess and bolster national defense preparedness.
In a significant development, Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a strategic review meeting at his residence. Present at the meeting were Director Generals of the Border Security Force (BSF) and Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), as well as top officials from the Home Ministry. National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was also in attendance, underlining the gravity of the situation.
Discussions focused on strengthening border surveillance and tightening airport security protocols. The meeting comes at a time when the threat of infiltration and targeted attacks remains acute.
Border states have already begun implementing enhanced security protocols. Notably, BSF personnel neutralized a Pakistani national attempting to infiltrate across the Punjab border. In Rajasthan, authorities have completely sealed the 1,037-kilometer border with Pakistan, issuing shoot-on-sight orders for any suspicious activity.
In a significant tactical success, the BSF thwarted a major infiltration attempt by Pakistani terrorists in Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the elimination of at least seven militants, according to official sources.
