In a bold and uncompromising address, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) MP Asaduddin Owaisi labeled Pakistan a “failed state” and a “hub for terrorism” during a diplomatic visit to Bahrain. Owaisi’s comments came as part of a multi-nation outreach by an Indian parliamentary delegation aiming to spotlight India’s zero-tolerance stance on terrorism in the wake of the recent Pahalgam attack.
The cross-party delegation, led by BJP MP Baijayant Panda, included senior political figures from various parties and was tasked with engaging global partners on India’s fight against cross-border terrorism.
“Our government has entrusted us with the responsibility of bringing global attention to the relentless terror threats India continues to face,” said Owaisi during his remarks. “The origin of this threat is clear—Pakistan. Its persistent support for terror groups is the root cause of the bloodshed we’ve endured.”
Referring emotionally to the human toll of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, Owaisi shared stories of young lives tragically cut short. “One woman, married for just six days, became a widow. Another lost her husband after only two months of marriage,” he said, emphasizing the personal grief inflicted by terrorism.
Despite ideological differences at home, Owaisi said that Indian leaders stand united on matters of national security. “Our political divisions end when it comes to protecting our nation’s sovereignty,” he stated. He also stressed that India is fully capable of defending its citizens with advanced air defence systems and surveillance infrastructure already in place to counter external threats.
Owaisi further urged the international community to step up efforts in dismantling the financial networks that sustain global terrorism. “We are not just protecting Indian lives—we’re safeguarding peace and stability for the region,” he declared.
In addition to Owaisi and Baijayant Panda, the delegation included Ghulam Nabi Azad, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey and Phangnon Konyak, NJP MP Rekha Sharma, MP Satnam Singh Sandhu, and diplomat Harsh Shringla. The team will also visit Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Algeria, continuing their diplomatic campaign against terrorism. The mission aims to strengthen international partnerships and dismantle misinformation campaigns that seek to obscure the true nature of terror threats facing India.
