Shaheen Group to Launch Educational Initiative in Saudi Arabia
Jeddah: India’s Shaheen Group is set to enter the Saudi market, aligning with the Kingdom’s vision to become a global education hub under Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s Vision 2030. This initiative follows the trend of several prestigious educational institutions from Europe and the U.S. establishing campuses in Saudi Arabia.
Based in Karnataka, the Shaheen Group has established a strong reputation for excellence in medical and engineering entrance exams throughout southern India. The group has been a popular choice for many NRI students from Saudi Arabia and the Gulf, who often seek educational opportunities in India to improve their chances of admission to professional courses.
To meet this demand locally, the Shaheen Group plans to open a new school in Riyadh, catering to students from Kindergarten through Class 12, and offering integrated coaching for competitive exams such as NEET, JEE, and the CA Foundation. Dr. Abdul Qadeer, Chairman of the Shaheen Group of Institutions, announced that the school aims to begin operations in March 2025, subject to completion of building and accreditation processes. Potential locations for the school include Malaz or Sulemaniya.
Beyond Riyadh, the group has ambitions to expand further into Saudi Arabia, with plans for additional schools and educational institutions in cities like Jeddah, Al Khobar, and Madinah.
During an academic event in Riyadh, Dr. Qadeer noted the significant number of NRI students from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries enrolling in Shaheen Group institutions across Karnataka and Telangana. He also introduced the new leadership team for the Saudi branch, including Syed Wayez Ahmed as Managing Director for Saudi Arabia and the Middle East, Mohammed Zaki as Vice President of Operations, Fahad Saleh Al Jurais as HR and Administrative Director, and Sarah Mohammed Al Sharief as Director of the Riyadh school.
This expansion represents a significant step towards enhancing educational opportunities for students in Saudi Arabia while contributing to the Kingdom’s broader educational goals.
