Indian Mango Festival Draws Crowds at Souq Waqif, Doha
Doha: The Indian Mango Festival, known as Indian Hamba, has commenced at the Souq Waqif marketplace in Doha, Qatar’s capital, attracting numerous fruit enthusiasts from across the nation.
Featuring the participation of 60 companies through 100 outlets, the festival began on Thursday, May 30, and will continue until Saturday, June 8, operating from 4 pm to 9 pm daily.
Sales figures from Souq Waqif on X platform indicate a strong start, with over 36,000 kg of mangoes sold during the initial three days:
- May 30: 8,500 kg
- May 31: 13,000 kg
- June 1: 15,000 kg
The festival showcases a diverse selection of mango varieties sourced from various regions of India, including Alphonso, Kesar, Banganapalli, Totapuri, Neelam, Mallika, Malgova, and Langada.
Additionally, the event features mango tastings, traditional mango dishes, jams, juices, ice creams, and other culinary delights centered around this beloved tropical fruit.
