Atiqa Mir Demonstrates Consistent Excellence in DAMC Championship, Secures Third Place Overall
Dubai, UAE: Atiqa Mir showcased her exceptional talent throughout the Dubai Autodrome Championship (DAMC), culminating in a commendable third-place finish in the overall standings, despite missing the fourth round due to concurrent commitments in Italy.
During the intense conditions of round 5 at the Dubai Kartdrome, Atiqa continued to impress, clinching victory in Race 2 and securing third place in Race 1 before concluding the final race in third position.
Setting the pace early, Atiqa dominated the Official Practice session on Saturday, recording the fastest lap time of the weekend and entering Sunday’s races with confidence.
The championship’s unique format placed Atiqa in 10th position for Race 1 and pole position for Race 2, where her prowess was evident as she advanced from 10th to 3rd place in Race 1 and claimed victory in Race 2. Despite qualifying 2nd for the finals, Atiqa faced challenges in maintaining her pace and ultimately settled for 3rd place after incurring a penalty for exceeding track limits.
Reflecting on her performance, Atiqa remarked, “After a three-month hiatus from driving a Rotax, I had to make significant adjustments. Despite leading in practice and feeling confident in my speed, I lost momentum crucially during the finals, resulting in a third-place finish after a penalty for track limits. This concludes the UAE season, and I look forward to competing in India and Europe this summer. I extend my gratitude to my supporters and team for their unwavering support.”
