Ahmedabad: Sunrisers Hyderabad Elect to Bat First Against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL Qualifier 1
On Tuesday, May 21, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins won the toss and chose to bat first in the Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 1 against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).
The victorious team in this match will secure a direct entry to the final, while the losing team will have another opportunity to reach the final. SRH has retained the same lineup for this crucial encounter.
“We’ve decided to bat first as the pitch looks conducive for a high-scoring game. Our batting unit has been exceptional, and we hope to continue our strong performance tonight. We are fielding the same eleven as in the previous game,” Cummins stated at the toss.
Conversely, KKR has made a change by replacing Phil Salt with Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
KKR captain Shreyas Iyer commented, “I would have preferred to bowl first. After speaking with the curator, we learned the pitch is a mixed soil type; we’ll see how it plays out. It’s crucial to maintain our momentum and stay focused. Finishing at the top of the table is a significant achievement, and we’re all proud. We’re approaching one game at a time and staying positive. Our team remains unchanged.”
