Suyash Sharma Joins Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 2.6 Crore in IPL 2025 Auction
Jeddah, Nov 25: Uncapped spinner Suyash Sharma made a significant move in the IPL 2025 Auction, with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) securing his services for a hefty Rs 2.6 crore at the event held at the Abadi Al Johar Arena in Jeddah on Sunday.
Suyash, who represented Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the 2023 season, impressed with 10 wickets in 11 matches. While he was part of KKR last season, he didn’t get the opportunity to feature in the playing XI, with Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy leading the spin department.
Other notable uncapped spinner acquisitions included Mumbai Indians, who bought Karn Sharma for Rs 50 lakh, while KKR acquired Mayank Markande for Rs 30 lakh.
Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, however, went unsold in the auction, failing to attract any bidders during the final set of the opening day’s proceedings.
Rajasthan Royals and Gujarat Titans also made key additions, securing Kumar Kartikeya and Manav Suthar, respectively, for Rs 30 lakh each. Shreyas Gopal was left unsold on the first day, as the action wrapped up.
The auction’s first day saw a total of 72 players sold, raising a staggering Rs 467.95 crore. Among the biggest deals, Rishabh Pant became the highest-paid player, fetching a record Rs 27 crore deal with Lucknow Super Giants. Punjab Kings made a major splash by acquiring Shreyas Iyer for Rs 26.75 crore, while KKR bagged all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer for Rs 23.75 crore.
Punjab Kings also strengthened their bowling attack by securing Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal for identical Rs 18 crore bids.
